P.D. Ayer & Co. Series 5

P.D. Ayer & Co. Series 5 postcards, as enumerated by Mike Smith in his latest book, The Canadian Patriotic & Heraldic Postcard Handbook 1897–1945, illustrate a coat of arms of Nova Scotia over a beaver and two branches of maple leaves. This coat of arms was developed the year following Confederation, and was in use until 1929, when the original coat of arms granted in 1625 by King Charles I as part of a Scottish settlement attempt in Nova Scotia, was re-adopted.
