W.G. MacFarlane View Cards

In addition to W.G. MacFarlane’s well known patriotic cards, the company also produced a series of view cards, some of which feature the same images as the patriotics, but without the patriotic emblems. Below are a selection of those cards.

Later, the company began producing colour cards made by colourizing bland & white photos. They referred to this as their Naturotype Process, and in 1905 were offering to produce cards for people interested in creating their own postcards.

MacFarlane published this same photo as a black & white image entitled “Swan Pond, Centre Island Park” in their “Souvenir of Toronto” book, published by MacFarlane for S.H. Knox & Co.
