The map below shows the intersection of King & Queen Streets in 1890. The hotel was in existence at this time, however the map shows very little adjacent development. The postcard, circa 1910, shows that the infilling of construction along the queen Street frontage has progressed. Other interesting elements such as the toll gate and the water works are visible on the map. Roncesvalles has not yet begin to show development in 1890.
